If you live in the rust belt you are probably far too familiar with the negative effect that road salt has on your vehicle. You should not only be concerned about the rust you see but the
rust you don’t see. The Rusted beam you see here is from a 2004 Honda Accord that I just recently replaced.
You see the road salt basically thrown up from the rear wheels and is not easily removed by washing your car alone. This bumper reinforcement is important to have solid and intact especially if someone rear ends your car. You see it’s all about energy absorption when you get into an accident and it is important that you take care of the rust you don’t see!
Thanks for visiting!
Hi Joe. Do you happen to remember how many bolts are there on the bumper beam/support? Really appreciate any help.
Regards,
George
I believe there are 8. Hope this helps?
What holds the bumber to the frame. Seems mine has or had push nuts? or have the bolts just rusted away? I’m perplaxed because i can get old one off.
Thanks
It is possible that the nuts are badly rusted and do not look like they did when once new.
