Incorrectly installed year sticker
you place your new “year” sticker over the “old” year sticker on the right side of the license plate. Do not place your new “year’ sticker over your birth month sticker on the left side of the plate. Technically I am unable to complete a state inspection on a said vehicle until the stickers are in their proper locations. If you have made this mistake you can remove the sticker very slowly and carefully with a little help from the heat of a blow dryer to soften the adhesive on the sticker. It is recommended that you remove the license plate and bring it inside to remove the sticker properly and safely. Make sure that you put your stickers in their proper locations, otherwise you might be informed by an officer of the law to correct them!
